The Johnson Family

Hello Everyone-
I hope everyone is enjoying their January...one of my favorite months!  December flew by and I can't believe that January is almost over.  The kids are doing great and Warren is busy getting things ready for his National Boards renewal in a couple of weeks.  Here are some pictures from the month of December.

CHRISTMAS DAY!!

The girls and Warren loved the scarfs from GG!

My Little Pony is always a hit in our home.

And, star wars is also a hit.  It is really fun to watch Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader riding My Little Ponies.

I couldn't get enough pictures of my little man.  He makes me so happy!!

He really wanted to get this book out of the box and got pretty frustrated, but it was fun to watch him try.

As usual, Blake was the typical year old playing more with the paper and boxes.

Taylor got Josephina the American Girl doll from Santa and she loves it.

Kaylee got a guitar and new jacket from Santa and she loves her guitar.

Nicole finally got her American Girl doll...Kaya.  She is so excited!!

Blake is quite the Tigger fan.  He reminds me of Tigger actually with all of his jumping and bouncing.

During the school break, the girls slept in the basement every single night.  I thought they would be cold, but they had such a great time and actually slept very well downstairs.

The girls were so excited on Christmas Eve...I think this picture
shows it all.

 Annual Nativity Scene.

Ski lessons in the Family Room!!

Blake loved the Christmas Tree and as you can tell, all of the ornaments are closer to the top.  The ornaments slowly made there way closer and closer to the star.

Kaylee was also in the Nutcracker this year.  She was the lead dancer in BonBon, which is the dance with the lady wearing the Big Dress.

Kaylee was also in the Arabian Dance which was her favorite.

Kaylee had to give a huge presentation on one of the explorers and she was assigned Christopher Columbus. She worked really hard and did a great job.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT MONTH.

Christmas Trip 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas Day, a very hot day for Wellington. It was 34 degrees, which is about 85. We gave each other a trip to the South Island for Christmas and left for our trip on Boxing Day, the 26th.  We flew to Dunedin in the afternoon and it is a beautiful city.  Just a few facts:  The city was founded by the Free Church of Scotland in 1848, the name comes form Dun Eideann, the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh.  One of the two medical schools in New Zealand is in Dunedin, but most important of all, the Cadbury Chocolate factory is located there.

Dad is doing his normal thing of climbing out on a ledge to get a picture. Here he is taking one of the Otago Harbor.

The Larnach Castle was built between 1871 and 1887 by William Larnach. The castle was not known to be a happy place and fall into total disrepair until 1967 when it was restored.

Hard to see, but the while birds are Royal Albatrosses.

Lighthouse at Nugget Point. A beautiful spot that over looks the Pacific Ocean.

On of the many beautiful waterfalls on the South Island. Dad is in the blue shirt next to the person in the orange.

You have to look really closely at this picture to see the penguins, but they are there

These were one of the weirdest things I have ever seen.  Huge round boulders in the ocean.  There is a very scientific explanation, that I can't remember, but they are really neat to see anyway.

Another beautiful land formation, the Cathedral Cliffs.

Have to end with to most spectacular view of the trip. Whales!!! We went to Kaikoura, which means to eat (Kia), Krayfish (koura).  Actually the krayfish are the size of lobsters and just as expensive and just as good.
On New Years Day we went whale watching and saw 4 sperm whale- beautiful site.

We had a wonderful trip and now have seen most of New Zealand and the beautiful landscape and the amazing wild life that are here. Dad will have alot more pictures on the mission blog soon.
