Here are some pictures of the Houston trip. I thought everyone might enjoy seeing some more pictures of the J's.

Construction Zone

Here are some pictures of the cut-out kitchen floor. Monday they cut up the floor and they are letting it dry this week. They started laying the floor today and should finish it up next week-keeping our fingers crossed. Dad and I are camping out at the Residence Inn.

This is Mollie's Lovely Letter

Hello Family!
Starting is always the hardest part but once you start it is easier to know what to say. I am doing fine. I never have much to say because my life consists of one thing and one thing only - School. I am busy, busy, busy with school. I have three presentations I have to give this semester. One will be on the Romanian Monasteries with post colonial theory. Most scholars who take a post colonial look at art show how big bad Europe went and conquered the world and forced people to live their way. The scholars look at art about the Orient and Middle East and see how European countries put a twist to that art and how they depicted the lands they conquered. I am talking about how Europe was not the only place to conquer land. I am talking about how the Ottoman Empire ruled Romania and the Romanians showed their hatred for their conquers through art. My professor calls it an anit-post colonial view and loves the idea because no one takes this view and I am a little nervous because it is an anti-Islamic view which is really not cosier right now. My teacher says it is fine though because it is not my view but I am just showing the facts. My other presentation is on Processions that took place around monasteries during the Medieval period and how the architecture of the period help enhance the processions. My last presentation is on Thomas Crow, a famous Art Historian, and I have to read everything he has ever written and talk about why his theory is significant. I know all these presentations sound fascinating to all y'all and I will gladly give them to you.
I don't have much with my life - as you can see I am busy. I also am trying to make plans for my trip to Romania. I bought my ticket and leave on May 28th and get back on June 16th. I am excited.
Well this is long enough. Have a great month and Happy Easter!
Love Mollie

From Mom and Dad

Hi everyone! Today was our Stake Conference and we have a new stake presidency. Our new stake president is Ralph Walker. He was our bishop when we first moved here, so John and Mollie will know who he is. He will be wonderful. To update everyone, tomorrow we will move out of the house for two weeks, while the wooden floor is redone. Should be fun! We will stay at the Resident Inn near the house for the duration. During the month of February, I was able to go to Houston to visit Jill and family, and also see some old friends. It was great being with Jill, helping her out and also playing with the kids. The weather was beautiful, so the kids and I were able to go for walks, and JJ entertained me with songs he has learned in school. Jadyn played most of the time with two balloons that JJ's primary teacher brought over. Jaxson was keeping up with everyone, by crawling everywhere. Dad has keep busy with work, church and Scouts. January and February where months to re-charter the scouts and also "Friends of Scouting". I think most of that is all over. Hope everyone will enjoy the family blog and update when they can. Love Mom and Dad

The Js

Busy, Busy, Busy

Joshua - "He is happy and in love." I will tell more. He is studying for a test as I type this. We both didn't think the police academy would be this hard but he is plugging away and can't wait for the coming weeks, skills. This means out comes the cars, baton's and firearms. Skills last about 5 weeks and he can't wait to learn all the fun tricks of the trade.
Jill - She keeps very busy with the kids and working. Luckily her job allows her to work three days from home and two days in the office for 3 hours each day.
JJ - Thanks to TJ's family, JJ has found a new love, puzzles. He does them all day. We bought him some new ones and he loves them all. School is a little tough for him. However, he does love to ride the bus.
Jadyn - Energy doesn't even describe her. She has her own language and if you listen carefully, there are words that you can understand. Like JJ, she has her "puppy." It happens to be a Lightin' McQuin bubble bath car that she carries with her where ever she goes. If you tell her it is time for bed off she goes looking for that silly car and then off to bed.
Jaxson - Everyone would have to clap for this little guy. He stands up in the middle of the room and you better show him some love because he will just stand there and laugh his head off because he thinks he is hot stuff. No steps as of yet, but I will keep you all posted.

The McVey's of West Jordan

A quick thank you to Kim and Mom for putting this together. The McVey's of West Jordan find themselves on the go at all times. The girls, Madison and Abby are busy with School and gymnastics. Madison also has piano that is taking a little of her time. Robbie and Tyler can not play enough. They both have cabin fever and are looking forward to being able to play outside. Tiffany is busy as will with work at H&R block, activity days, Stake Sports, teach primary and taking care of the family not to mention watching a JAZZ game every so often. I'm trying to stay busy with teach seminary and my regular gym classes. Church is also keeping me busy. What better way to spend life than working. We hope and pray that all is will with all and look forward to reading what the rest of the family has to say.
Love the McVey's of
West Jordan

This is from Kim: TJ is also now a member of the High Council. We love you T and know you will do a great job.

Pi'ikea and John

Pi'ikea and John in Maui during 2nd Anniversary.

These past couple weeks have been a little different for the both of us. We both worked custodial at the BYU Health Center, but have since upgraded to an Apx Alarm call center. John was hired on for Tech Support due to his previous experience installing alarm systems for Firstline and Pi'ikea was hired on at Data Entry. John started in mid-February and started taking calls this past week and Pi'ikea will start training Monday, March 3rd. Pi'ikea will continue to work periodically at the Health Center to earn some extra cash.

School for both of us is going just fine. Both of us plan on taking classes this spring and summer. Pi'ikea will most likely be finished with school this December with a degree in Home and Family Living. John on the other hand has a lot of schooling left. If things go as planned he will be finished by April 2010 with a degree in Construction Management.
