Bone's Bunch

Well, life has been pretty crazy for us with all of the traveling, but we are now home and I am trying to get back to normal life. The girls are excited for school, sort of. Kaylee is not so sure about all day and I am worried about getting Nicole up and out of here by 8:00am, but it will work out great. I have spent the entire day organizing and buying school supplies, which just stresses me out. The girls are doing great. Here is a quick update followed by pictures from our trips.
Taylor is saying more and more words and has become Miss Independent. Her favorite words are wa, wa (water), ruff (dog), go (when Nicole is bothering her), and ing (swing). She also officially started Nursery at church which has Mom alittle worried, but I am sure she will d great.
Kaylee is madly in love with the movie Hairspray. I told her she can only watch it with me and we skipped over alot of parts, but she loves it. She wants her hair in constant pigtails (like Penny) and now walks around with a little squirt bottle full of water pretending it is hairspray. She is desperately going to miss watching movies in the morning and playing with friends all day long, but she is excited for art and music at school.
Nicole is doing great. She is getting really good at riding her scooter and balancing herself on different things. She absolutely loved the trip when we were at the lake. She is in her element when there is water, sand, boats, and fast moving toys. Lately Nicole's favorite things are bugs, and pretending to make oatmeal with all of Mom's dishes.

Miss Independent wanting to drive the boat.
Kaylee alittle nervous to ride the knee board. She actually prayed for courage to waterski. Can you say timid? Could she be like her mother?

Nicole had no probably going out by herself. She cried at first, but she is one tough chick.

Taylor loved the jet ski. She laughed and screamed out of excitement the entire time. Warren would do donuts which really got her excited.

Nicole loved sitting in the lake on the sand. She was almost in a trance.

The girls running to the lake. They loved walking on the beach and getting sand between
their toes.

We went in some caves up at Bear Lake. Not too prepared. We grabed Warren's shirts in the back of the car and Warren's hat to help keep the girls warm. There were over 800 stairs that they had to climb and they did great. Nicole kept saying "Dark. Scary" They thought they looked like ghosts so they would also go around saying, "OOOOO."

Tight loves for Nicole who was alittle overwhelmed at the Family Reunion.

Taylor's favorites: keys (or cars as she calls them) and watermelon.

Nicole loves to put sunscreen all by herself. "Me do" she says.

Taylor has a sweet tooth and loved to eat everyone's chocolate cake. If you left it on the ground, she would come right over and stuff it into her mouth.

When we got back from our trip, my garden was huge. We got alot of rain, so things took off. I even have a little pumpkin growing, so I am excited. I spent 2 hours in the yard picking weeds though - YUCK!!

Before we left for Utah, we went camping in the mountains. Absolutely beautiful.

Love everyone and thanks for doing this. I love seeing the pictures and reading up on everyone.

McVeys of West Jordan

We hope everyone had a great July, we certinly did. Our July started with a weekend at Tiffany’s families cabin for the 4th and the Oakley Rodeo. The kids had a great time running around the cabin and spending time out on the little lake in a paddleboat. Mom and dad tried to find time to relax but had no luck. As you can tell by the picture we all had a hard time finding time to relax.

Madison and Abby have had a great time learning to swim and loved their instructor; I mean their time in the pool.J They have learned a great deal and enjoy playing in the pool every chance they get.
The boy’s are busy as ever playing ball, cars, and Thomas. That would be Thomas the tank engine. Tyler has four different engines and loves to read and watch anything that has to do with Thomas.

Over the July 24th weekend we spent 2 days and 1 night in Park City. The kids had a wonderful time going down the Alpine Slide, riding on various children’s rides, and the Heber Creeper.
Madison is trying to get the hang of the end of her ride.

Dad and Abby coming to the end

Madison, Robbie, and Tyler decide to try the merry-go-round as we wait for mom and Abby.

Tyler is in heaven on this mini-excavator!

All the kids are trying their hand at being a pilot. This is just below the slides.

The kids enjoy their ice cream just outside
This train is just outside the station
the Chocolate Factory. in Heber. The kids loved their train ride.

IT”S A BOY!
Due just before Christmas

We hope all are having a wonderful and save summer. School is just around the corner and the girls are more excited than words can express. Robbie is also counting down the days to start pre-school. You all are in our prayers and we hope everyone has a great rest of the month.
Love,
The West Jordan McVey’s

Hi from Mom and Dad

It has been a very busy month for us. Dad, of course had his knee surgery on July 3rd, so we had a very quiet 4th. I will try to add pictures so you can see how beautiful his scar will be. He took it easy for a few days, then back to work. He was very sad, because he could not drive his car, he thought, but he discovered on the 13th that it was easier to get in and out of his car, so from then on, he drove the little red corvette. On the Wednesday the 16th, our friend, Jan Lancaster came from Houston to visit us. We drove up to Peaks Pikes on Thursday and then visited Kim's house, where Kaylee showed Jan the house, especially her room and the basement playroom. On Saturday Julie Anderson and Sally Pando came from Salt Lake to join us. We had a great time. We saw Mama Mia, went to St Nicks, a year around Christmas store, and Tom fixed us Rouladen for dinner. On Sunday we had friends over for dinner that knew Sally and Julie in Logan. On Monday we went to Breckenridge and then to a Rockies-Dodgers game (we lost). Tuesday, Julie's sister-in-law Rae Louise, joined us for the drive to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a wonderful time visiting, playing Scrabble, and shopping in Breckenridge and Estes Park. On July 22 we got the sad news that Rod had passed away. Even though Rod had been very ill and not expected to live much longer, his death still came early for all of us. So on Thrusday dad and I drove to St George for the funeral. We were glad that John, Piikea, and Mollie joined us there. Then we went to Orem for the burial on Saturday. We were able to spend a couple of days with John and Piikea and also a few days with TJ and family. While in Salt Lake, dad and I took Madison and Abby to visit Temple Square. We had a great time, especially being able to see Dave and Merle Rumsey. We all had lunch at the Joseph Smith Building and had a wonderful time visiting. They are having a wonderful mission. We drove back to St George and picked up Grandma and she is staying with us to rest and think about what to do next.

School's back :-(

So I guess Mollie and I are the only faithful ones in doing the blog, but that is not important. Fall semester is coming up in the beginning of Sept. This Wednesday I am going to be taking the final for my estimating class so the summer term is going to be ending. I should be finishing with an A, I hope. Last week Pi'ikea started The Utah College of Massage Therapy and she is loving it. Every time she talks about the class she gets very excited and can't stop talking about it. I am also enjoying it, she has practiced on me a couple of times and it is very nice.

Work, for both of us, has been quite exciting and very stressful. The APX call center was just awarded with the JD Power & Associates excellent customer service certification. That makes APX only 1 of 38 other call centers in the U.S. with these certification and the only alarm company, besides Brinks, to have this certification. That is quite a large accomplishment for us. To celebrate we had a massive work party with helicopters, skydivers, cash cage, and many other things. Pi'ikea won a chance to be in the cash cage and collected $77. The girl that worked with me doing Home Damage decided not to tell anybody that she was quitting and ended up dumping her work onto me so my work load literally doubled. So I have been somewhat stressed with trying to deal with all of the anger customers. Anyways, I hope all is well with everybody else that your August is great.

The End of Summer!

Well - I wish I had tons to say but I don't. I have been in school and have been busy with that. My presentation is over and now I just have to write my paper. It was on the images of Eve and Mary during the Medieval period and on the Romanian Monasteries. The picture I attached is the focus of my paper. It shows how Mary was shown as the good example for women to follow and how Eve was seen as a sinner. (Never mind I don't know how to add it) I am very grateful for the fact that we see Eve as being a faithful woman and not as the cause of all sin. I really have been doing only that. My roommate Cat is engaged so I have helped her get ready and helped with invitations and the dress. I read some books including the new Twilight series book Breaking Dawn. I actually went to the midnight release party and let me tell you - it was crazy. I loved watching it. Screaming Teenagers and pushy old women yelling at everyone not to cut. My friends and I just laughed. I also went to the midnight release of Mama Mia. That was so much fun. Everyone in the theater were women. There were maybe three guys and everyone was singing and dancing and clapping. I know I told most of you that my friend and I were going to try out for American Idol since tryouts were in Utah. But after reading the release form, I was not comfortable in signing it. It basically said that Fox or "the Producer" had the right to use any image of you or information on you whether it be false or fact and that those things could lead to your humiliation, demise, or condemnation in society. They can use that information in any form of media invented or that will be invented through out the universe. I thought that was a bit too much when I just wanted to try out for fun.
I also was able to make it down to St. George for Rodney's funeral and it was a beautiful service. There was a lot of music since Rod loved music and I was lucky and got to sing in one of them.
Anyways that is enough from me.
Love Mollie
