The McVey's of West Jordan

Well, October was quite a busy month for the McVey’s of West Jordan. The girls had a great month with piano, school, dance, Halloween, and friends. They both did well in their first quarter of school. Madison is involved with the school play. Robbie is loving school and enjoys learning and playing with his friends. Tyler is still our little comedian. His new word is “booyah” and uses it all the time. Parker is still growing like a weed. At his last doctor’s appointment, he was in the 90% in height and 5% for weight. Tiffany is fully involved with stake sports and school for H&R block. TJ is having a great time with seminary and is pretty busy with his masters.

The kids had a great time during Halloween. Madison was Bellutrix from Harry Potter, Abby was Super girl, Robbie was Dracula, Tyler was Frankenstein, and Parker was a cow. All the kids got a boat load of candy but most of all had a great time.

Howdy from Texas

Have you ever had one of those months were you go, "what did I do this month?" The only thing I can say is that life gets so busy sometimes the days just blend together and there goes another month.

Mom and Dad came for a visit for a few days and we had a blast just being together, carving pumpkins and sugar cookies. It was a nice break for me because during the time Grandma and Grandpa were here Josh and I were second fiddle. Fine by me. The hardest part was when they left and the kids woke up for the day, went right into the room mom and dad were staying in and asked, "Where are mama and papa?" I said they went back home and Jadyn threw herself on the bed and Jaxson got mad and threw himself on the floor. Mom and Dad have great pictures, see below.

Halloween was fun, someone please tell me how to get all kids to look at a camera.

Pumpkins carved by Jill, Josh and Grandpa McVey

Jadyn did not want to wear her costume. She screamed, cried, threw herself all over the place. Once I finally got her outfit on this is what was said:

"I so pretty" "I Cinderella" - she told me this all night long

Jaxson was not to thrilled about the whole thing. He hated the makeup and sheet, but once he got out there and realized how the whole thing worked, "Trick o' Treat" was the easiest thing to say to Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen's neighbors and at "Trunk o' Treat"

JJ told us far in advance that he wanted to be a ghost and he knew what he was to do. Luckily we were at our previous wards "Trunk o' Treat" so people knew him and he was slowly about three or four cars ahead, but luckily he was in all white and easy to spot. He loved the whole night.

PS - Santa Clause is an amazing man. According to Jadyn he is bring her the following:

Pink Computer
Pink Motorcycle
Pink Gun
Pink Umbrella
Pink Plate
Pink Cup
Pink Straw
Pink Game
...and the "Pink" list goes on

Hello Everyone

We had a great October! We went from beautiful weather, to fall, to winter, then back to beautiful weather. We raked tons of leaves one day then shoveled snow for the next two days. We watched the girls while Kim and Warren were in Santa Fe and had a great time building forts and the tradition of a movie, popcorn and spicy drink.
Taylor wasn't quite sure about the forts to begin with, so she thought the ottomen would work just as well.
Kaylee and Nicole had a two room tent with a hall way in -between. They even had lights inside the tents so they could read.
Towards the end of October we went to Houston to visit Jill and family. We had a great time with everyone. Relaxing, making Halloween sugar cookies and carving pumpkins. Jill and Josh's new home was wonderful. The kids have plenty of room to run around and play. Of course, a visit to Houston wouldn't be complete without a typical down pour and thunder storms, but that didn't stop us from searching out great BBQ for lunch - Rudy's.
We had a great time with Jill, Josh, and kids. We come home to a yard full of leaves, so we raked and raked and raked and after about 15 bags of leaves, we were done, then in the morning we woke up to snow. Alot of snow for the next few days. Luckily Dad was on vacation so he spend his time off shoveling and I was able to stay warm inside.

The snow cleared up enough by Halloween that we drove down to see Kim and family. We had monster pizza for dinner and I went tricking treating with the girls and dad handed out candy.
Hope you all had a great Halloween and we look forward to Thanksgiving.

HAPPY GRATEFUL SEASON!!!

Well Hello Family -

Life in Salt Lake is great. I love my new job. I have three things I do. First and foremost I am creating a quick reference guide for the patrons so if they come in looking for the papers of Wilford Woodruff, my guide will tell them how to find that. Second I help copyright the lectures given at the library meaning if they use a quote by Ken Burns I have to call and get permission to use that quote. It is fun. Third, I am a librarian at the front desk and help people research. I love it. I have seen some cool things too like pictures of the prophets, writings of Joseph F. Smtih, original copy of the Book of Mormon, and the Relief Society minutes from Nauvoo. Great fun.

I also as most of ya'll know am dating someone. His name is Paul and he is very nice. He lives in Denver and so we talk on the phone or on video chat most of the time. Last week he flew me to Denver to see Wicked which was alot of fun. I love that play. He came over for dinner on Sunday and Mom and Dad and Kim and her family got to meet him. I attached a picture of us at Wicked so ya'll can see him.

That is all my fun news. I will be home for Thanksgiving which is exciting. Anyways

Love Mollie

Johnson Family

Hello Family-
I hope everyone is enjoying their FALL!! I love the fall and the weather has been beautiful during this past week. Life is pretty busy here in Colorado. We have been busy traveling to Utah and Santa Fe, going to school, getting Swine Flu, staying home for 3 days during the 1st major snow storm, and enjoying one of my favorite holidays - HALLOWEEN!! Here is a quick update through pictures:

My Mermaid Princess

My Punk Rocker

My Salsa Dancer

Grandma and Grandpa came to our house to celebrate Halloween. We made Monster Pizza and went trick or treating. FUN TIMES!

Warren and I ventured to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the middle of October. I loved this city. We had fun learning about the history of this old city and looking at the architecture.

Warren was fascinated with the windmills...and other art displays.

This is what our house looked like for about a week during the snow storm and during my lovely illness of swine flu. The girls made tents, stayed in Pajamas all day, and ate cereal almost every meal.

Nicole's Tent

Taylor's tent - BIG step for Taylor...she decided that maybe going to the potty really isn't that bad. This past week, she has earned a lot of Polly Pockets and Princess things for her wonderful accomplishment.

Sick with Swine Flu - YUCK!! Warren is the only one who did not get this nasty thing.

Fun at our backyard pumpkin patch.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE - HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT ONE!!

Love ya-
Kim, Warren, and the girls

Thanksgiving

This semester is going by very very fast. I only have like 6 more week and I am done with this semester and then I will only have one semester until I graduate. I am so excited. This semester I am doing pretty good. So far I have all As and one B, I think. That classes this semester are not too tough. This upcoming Winter semester will be a fun one though. I will have a good load of classes in Provo. Work is going great; we are setting the GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) for the downtown project. That is pretty much all I have going on. Work and school and then some more work and school. A few weeks ago our ward had our Primary Program where all the little kids get up and sing during Sacrament. Since we teach primary we had the privilege of singing with the kids. So much fun trying to keep 7 five-year olds seated for an hour!

Pi'ikea on the other hand is starting to get busier, or at least hoping to get busier. A few weeks ago she was hired at a spa in Spanish Fork. It is much closer than Park City. Right now she only has a couple of appointments a week but hopefully that will start to increase as the ski/winter season picks up. She is still looking at other options with a private practice and things like that. She has an interview this Saturday doing more of the sporting atmosphere like trigger point, injury and sports massage. We're not sure what the job entails, but we'll see. Other than that there really isn't much going on.

My parent's new puppies! They're soo cute!

Here are a few pictures
of the diaper cake I made for my friend's shower. Hope you like it! (p.s. etsy.com is pretty cool for cute homemade craft items that you want to get. I just got a customized highchair/swing/shopping cart cover for my friend's shower!) The view from the front is a little heavy looking on one side, but oh well!
