Sorry it's late.

Sorry my entry is late this month. Things at work have become very very busy. Yes I know that is not a good excuse. As everybody knows April was a pretty eventful month for us. Pi'ikea had her birthday and I graduated from college. I'm so excited that I finally graduated from BYU! Right now, I'm currently working full-time with Jacobsen for the summer. We've been busy at work with the Data center and other upcoming jobs. Today I was at work until 6 because we had a bid due this afternoon. It looks like we didn't get it, but we were very close. We were second. Last week I had a day that I was there until 7:30 working on a BYU job. Next month we will be bidding two big jobs, one for BYU and the other for UVU. Other than that, it's just work work work.

Pi'ikea has been busy lately for Mother's day at the spa. This past Saturday she had 7 appointments in 8 hours and today was no different. She's finally gotten around to doing some trade with her friends after her forearms started hurting. They are undergoing some new management changes and it's keeping her pretty busy trying to come up with some new ideas to re-vamp everything.

Well, Happy Mother's Day, hope everybody has a wonderful May.

Johnson Family

Hello Family-
I am finally getting around to doing the blog. SORRY!! The month of April flew by. We had alot of fun and were busy, busy, busy.
The girls are doing great. Kaylee is loving piano and the nature studies in school. She has decided she wants to be a geologist, preschool teacher, and gymnastics coach. She absolutely loves science!! She has also been writing some silly stories, and I love reading them. Here is a sampling: (They are learning how to use quotations, so this story has alot!!)

"It was a dark and lonely road," said the storytelller.

"Wait!" explained Susie. "I thought you said there was a rainbow."
"Well," said the storyteller. "There are many parts in a story."
"Ok!" said Kaylee, "Can there be a giant pizza that falls on top of a school and the children inside yell, NO SCHOOL!"
"Well, they would have to eat the pizza," said John.
"No!" said Kaylee.
"Can we get back to the story?" said Mary.
"I'll get the popcorn," said Kaylee.
"Ok," said the storyteller. "I was the only driver on the road than suddenly a light turned on. It was the sun. It was morning, it started to rain, then it stopped raining."
Beep! Beep! "Popcorns ready!!" said Kaylee.
The storyteller went on, "I saw a rainbow, school started, everything happened at once. Then a giant pizza fell on the school."
Than Kaylee screamed, "WHO WANTS MORE POPCORN!!"
The End

Nicole is doing great. She loves swimming and is getting more and more comfortable in the water. She is always alittle hesitate to start, but once she gets going...she loves it!

Taylor is growing and growing. She looks like a little preschooler more than a toddler. She loves belts, polly pockets, princess, and Dora. Taylor is always carrying some sort of purse with barbies, pens, paper, and books.

Warren is busy with the basement and I am busy with normal stuff.

Here are some pictures from are trip to Moab at the end of April.

Love you-
The Johnson Family

MOAB

Taylor loved the jeep ride. She would clap when we went over something scary.

Behind Kaylee is a HUGE drop!! It made me slightly nervous!!

We went to Arches National Park and went on a few hikes. The girls loved the one that led to a sand hill. Kaylee and I raced up and down the sand hill, and Kaylee won.

We also learned about the Johnson side of the family at out reunion. Kaylee did a little presentation on Iceland and LOVED every moment in the spotlight.

All of the grandkids dressed up in Icelandic gear and hit a dragon pinata.

Every time the girls would find a rock, they would stand on it and yell, "I AM KING OF THE ROCK. AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU GIRLS CAN DO ABOUT IT!!" (What movie?)

EASTER PICTURES!

I love this candid shot. SO CLASSIC!!

The girls had a wonderful Easter with grandma and grandpa. They love EASTER EGG HUNTS!!

Hello all! The McVey's of West Jordan have had a busy yet enjoyable month of April.
Madison and Abby had a wonderful spring/why is it snowing in April concert.

Parker is still trying to figure out why the candy has to go into the basket not just his mouth. We had a wonderful Easter weekend and hope all had the same.

Parker is growing like a weed and is learning new things every day. One of his favorite things to do is play with dad's phone.

Abby has had a full month. She lost her two front teeth and found out that she had a cavity which she went to the Dentist to have fixed. The above picture is Abby trying to smile after seeing the Dentist. The left side of her face as you can see was still a little numb.

Robbie is starting to become a little funny man. He loves to do crazy little jokes on everyone. The hat is a project he did in school about Old Honest Ab.

Abby turned eight this year and decided to have a slumber party with 7 of her friends. Mom and dad tried their hardest to talk her out of it in fear that with 8, little girls running around we (mom and dad) would not get any sleep, and we were right. However they did have a wonderful time playing games and watch movies until early in the morning. I guess you only turn 8 once!

With Abby turning 8 she had the change to get baptized. What a special day for her. We would like to thank all who made the effort to come and support Abby on this wonderful day. Grandma McVey and Mollie did a fantastic job on their talks.

It's hard to believe that the kids are getting so BIG! Before you know it Madison will be in Young Womens and Robbie will be getting baptized.
We hope and pray that everyone is doing well. It was great to see so many people this past month. We wish everyone a Wonderful Mother's day this month and a BIG CONGRATULATION to John for graduating from BYWHO. I mean BYU.
Love, the McVey of West Jordan.

Mom and Dad

We had a wonderful and busy April, thanks to Easter, the Masters, Mexico, John, and Abby. The month started with a beautiful Easter Morning. It was general conference, so plenty of time to have breakfast and Easter Baskets. Kim, Warren and the girls were with us and Paul. Mollie and Paul had the chance to look at the girls stuff numerous times. The girls were able to dress in their beautiful Easter dresses and have pictures taken.
The big next adventure was Dad's. He was able to go to The Masters. We have no pictures, because no pictures are allowed. He stayed in a private home with 3 other men, and there was a hospitality home where they ate. He was there for the 1st and 2nd rounds and had a wonderful time. He said that the TV does not do the course justice. It is beautiful. He was able to go from hole to hole and follow many players and see some great golf. Our next adventure was to Los Cabos, Mexico. I truly didn't pay any attention to the trip, until we were on the plane and realized that Cabo is at the very bottom of Baja California. Who knew? The picture of dad is the view from our balcony. If I have the direction right, that is the Sea or Cortes.
This is the view from our front door. We stayed at the Westin, and if you see the big pink and orange wall in the background and the tables and chairs being set up below, that is for the dinner we attended to honor managers who reached their goal with extended warranties

When you walked into our suite, this is the view. To the right is a dining room and kitchen, and to the left, a bedroom and bath, and office. Off the bedroom was an outdoor hot tub. We had a wonderful time. Dad played golf and I had a spa day. For the first time, in all of the trips we have taken for this program, I was prepared and careful and didn't get a sunburn. We basically sat by the pool and read and rested.
We had a few days at home after Mexico, Dad moved his office for the North Building to the South Building, then off to Provo for John's graduation. Yea!!!!

It was great to have Grandma and Grandpa Mortensen and Grandma McVey with us to celebrate our baby boy's day.
On Thursday night we celebrated at the Texas Road House Restaurant, good choice John. Then on Friday, we all meet at Red Robin to celebrate again with Mollie and TJ's family.

On Saturday, another really big day for the McVey's, Abby's baptism. She was so happy and had a smile on her face all day. Abby had the support of a hugh family. G-grandparents, grandparents, aunts and uncle and cousins. We are so proud of you Abby.
Mollie and I were able to end the month, by going to see "In the Heights." Mollie's boss gave her two tickets, so she took me. I forget my camera, so thanks to Piikea's tutoring, I was able to take this picture of the stage with my phone. Mollie and I really didn't know anything about the play, but it was really good. It was all about family, friends and changing neighborhoods.

Hope you all have a wonderful May, Love Mom and Dad.

It's Hot Already

Already in the 90s, Yuck!

We are all doing great and keeping busy. We sure do miss you all and can't wait to pay a visit in July and get out of the already hot Houston weather.

Joshua - sadly he is starting to tell me he doesn't want to go to school. I keep telling him that only a few more weeks. Of course when he comes home he tells me he had a good day. He is smarter then I give him credit for. He loves to read and we are going to try and go to the library once a week and get books for him. My little smarty pants.

Jadyn - Happy 5th Birthday - but according to her she is still 4. "Can I go tomorrow?" That is the typical phrase she tells me when she gets home from school. She can write her name and she is so proud of herself. Jadyn will be going to summer school for 3 weeks in June and I am so happy for her because I was not looking forward to explain the summer to her. She doesn't like Saturday's and Sunday's because there is no school. Sadly she doesn't like church. We pull into the parking lot every Sunday and she starts to cry pointing at the building and saying, "No, No, No!!!" She doesn't like the fact the teachers make her sit still.

Jaxson - loves life and being the general of the family. He loves being alone with me in the morning and helping to take care of Jonah. He gets to play with his Thomas Trains and watch Thomas and Friends "All by myself." That is his favorite phrase for everything. "I can do it all by myself."

Jonah - growing way to fast. He is already 5 months old and getting so big. He grabs his toes and laughs. He loves to grab onto people's faces and pull them to him. Same with anything he gets his little hands on. Our little chub.

Josh and Jill - Busy all the time.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommy's out there. You don't have to be a mom to deserve a Happy Mother's Day. What is the saying about it takes a village to raise a child...
