Hi from Mom and Dad

I wanted to be the first, so I could bug everyone to do the blog, but as you can see, Mollie beat me to it. As you all know, Dad has his right knee replaced on Feb 10th, so the month of February for us, was rehab. When Dad got home from the hospital, we just took it easy over the weekend, but on Monday morning the Physical Therapist came, Rika, who is German, and the pain began. She was a task master. She left instruction for exercises that lasted about 45 minutes to a hour, that were to be done twice a day. And Dad was very faithful, he has worked very hard, but his knee would swell and that would interfere with rehab. He now goes to PT not to far from the house, and the swelling is not as bad. We watched alot of movies, John Adams (which took about 5 nights), RED-which was just fun to watch, Secretariat, some others that were totally forgettable, and of course old favorites like Pride and Prejudice and Emma. Luckily, TCM had 30 days of Oscars winning movies on, so we watched some great old movies. American Idol started again, so we are involved in that. Of course, Casey is our favorite because he looks like our John. Not to fond of the girls this year, but think alot of the guys are good.

We lucked out with the weather with no snow until today, so dad didn't have to go through the snow with a bad knee and a crutch.

Not only did dad have all of those exercises, but this fun machine, continual motion, that he had to be in for 6hours a day the first couple of weeks. But almost 4 week after surgery and things are getting better. No more machine, he can ride the bike, that we moved upstairs, and he doesn't have to use the crutch all of the time. Next month's blog will show him jumbing for joy that his knee is all better.
