Happy New Year

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas was marvelous for us because Jadyn and JJ got it. Reminding them Santa was coming made their eyes sparkle:

  • We were at Josh's parents house on Christmas Eve and needed to get home so we told Jadyn we needed to go home because Santa was coming. She ran to the door scream, "Santa's coming, Santa's coming, lets go, lets go." We will never forget the joy and excitement she had in her voice.

  • We would tell JJ Santa was coming and would bring him a present if he was a good little boy. His response always was one of amazement and sounded more like a question then a statement, "Santa will bring me a present?" We guess for him it was this big, jolly guy in a red suit was coming to Him and to bring Him a present.

  • Although Jax doesn't get it here is a story about him: One night right before Christmas we drove around looking at lights. We went through a neighborhood that has different themes on every street and even though it wasn't like we remembered growing up the kids thought it was the greatest thing in the world. We let them out of their car seats and I had Jadyn and JJ on my lap and Jax on Josh's lap. Jax kept point at everything he saw and saying some of his words. Even though we couldn't understand his words we understood his excitement. It brought back many memories for Josh and I as kids and teenagers driving through that neighborhood.

Josh's entire family after 8 years was finally all together for Christmas, our wedding was the last time we were all together. As the years pass we know it gets harder and harder for families to get together, so this was a tremendous blessing for everyone. Seeing the cousins play together will be something we shall never forget. The fun nights of playing games, watching movies and laughing at each others idiosyncrasies.

We had a little surprise one Wednesday afternoon. I don't know if you can tell in the picture above but it is actually snowing. The kids loved it.

We also decided to send out goody bags to friends from Church, a very large project. It took one day to make all the cookies and fun treats and about 3 to 4 hours to deliver. The kids helped to decorate the bags.

Jax had his 2nd birthday. WOW!!! Time flies way to fast, he actually got the opening presents thing. He did as most kids his age, he would open one present and want to play with that present and forgot about the others.

FYI - Josh's hand is healing just fine. He has a doctors appt on Monday to see if he can go off light duty and get back on the streets. I personal don't mind him being at the desk, but that is not who I married. He is a person that wants to get out there and get the bad guys, as silly as that sounds.

We hope and prayer everyone has a remarkable New Year filled with love, joy, and peace.
