The month of May was wonderful - one word to sum it up - BUSY!! We are crazy BUSY!!
Here is what is going on with us:
1) Warren is making progress on the basement. Framing is pretty much DONE and he is now working on the plumming. His pore wrists are hurting because of tearing apart the concrete floor to move some plumming around.
2) LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - Kaylee is now a 3rd grader and Nicole is going to repeat Kindergarten, BUT do it at Kaylee's school next year. They had a wonderful year. Kaylee got all A's and Nicole's test scores jumped up 1 entire point. Nicole's handwriting is also improving a ton. Thankfully, Nicole gets to have extra tutoring this summer - 3 days of one hour a day for 3 weeks. YAY!! We love extra help.
First, I have no pictures of the trip because we forget our camera and had to use the work camera which ran out of batteries....but, Warren and I went to Washington, DC at the beginning of May and it was wonderful!! I want to go back. Pat and Mom watched the girls for us and I was so grateful!! If I ever find the pictures, I will post them on my blog. It was such a wonderful experience and fun to get the history bug again.
The week before school ended, we went to Lake Powell with 3 other families for 7 days. We stayed on a house boat and had a wonderful time.
4)IMMIGRATION DAY FOR KAYLEE
The much anticipated day of the year finally came - Immigration Day. The school was turned into Ellis Island and the 2nd graders went through all the tests - they were checked for lice, given a test, showed their passports and family geneology. Kaylee was of course from Iceland and went above and behind her assignment. She prepared alittle talk and brought samples of Icelandic Food - pickled eggs. Surprisingly, the kids LOVED them.
6) NICOLE IS 6 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS SWEET GIRL
7) Garden Time
I planted my lovely garden - peas, peppers, lettuce, carrots, onions, zucchinni, and pumpkins. Each of the girls picked a section to grow their own pumpkins and they love checking on their growth.
We also were busy playing and playing and playing. My girls have the biggest imaginations and I love it.
Hope everyone is enjoying summer. We are LOVING it so far.
Love ya -
Johnson Family
