Dad had knee surgery on the last day on April, but even with that, we were able to go to Colorado Springs and have dinner with Kim and Warren and the girls on their 10th anniversary and go to Kaylee's piano recital. We had alot of fun at dinner and Kaylee was amazing at her recital.

We were able to spend Mother's Day weekend in Breckenridge. We decided to drive to Vail for a German dinner, but when we got there everything was closed. We now know the definition of "mud season" which is basically the end of ski season, usually Easter, until the end of May. So just about everything in Breckenrige and Vail shuts down to get ready for the summer season. We also know why it is called Mud Season, because when we got up on Sunday, Mother's Day, it was snowing.

From Breckenridge we drove to Colorado Springs to spend Mother's Day with Kim and her family and also celebrate Nicole's birthday which was on Monday. Grandpa and the girls made a special treat, which I can't remember the name of, that had chocolate, peanut butter, graham crackers and I don't know what else, but it was all covered with powder sugar.

Whatever is was, it was really good and I am glad that I have no idea how to make it . Dad was able to take the last week of May off. On the 20th of May we flew to LA. Dad worked for 3 days and I visited with my mom and dad. On Saturday we all went to Charlie and Maria for a wonderful dinner. One of many that we have shared there with the family.

It was a great evening, Chas and Cathleen, Auntie Janie, Uncle Lee and Auntie Marj were all there. It was great to see everyone and catch up with how and what everyone was doing. On Sunday, which was Memorial Day, we went to church with mom and dad. Dad wore his uniform jacket and Charlie's ROTC did the color guard for the church service. As you can see, they both look every handsome in their uniforms.

After church we went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The big hit was the tour of Air Force One. I had forgotten that President Reagan loved Jelly Beans, and on every table and in every room, there was a jar of jelly beans. It was amazing how roomie the jet was and the set-up they had for meetings.

From LA we went to St George to visit Grandma McVey. We had a very relaxing time, enjoying the outdoors, reading, and going to the movies. We were also able to go to the St George Temple with Grandma.

We had a great time and a relaxing time. We got home in time for my birthday and to catch up with everything at home. Dad and I are really looking forward to June and July when we can see everyone.
